(Inconel 625 Tube)

Inconel 625 Tube is a solid solution strengthened nickel-chromium alloy with added molybdenum and niobium. It is a non-magnetic superalloy that has excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures up to 2000degF (1093degC).

The strong solid solution strengthening effect of the molybdenum and niobium on the nickel-chromium matrix is what contributes to the strength of inconel 625 tubing. This alloy also exhibits excellent fatigue and thermal-fatigue strength as well as a high level of tensile, creep, and rupture strength.

A variety of industrial applications use this high-quality alloy including the oil, gas and chemical industries where its outstanding corrosion resistance is vital to the operation of critical equipment. In particular, Inconel 625 is used for gas turbine engine ducting, combustion liners and spray bars and in many chemical processing systems.

It is a superior choice for corrosive environments because it resists pitting and crevice corrosion, while its combination of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum provides resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids, organic acids, salts, alkalis, and seawater. It is also resistant to chloride stress-corrosion cracking, which occurs on materials under tensile strength that are exposed to oxygen and chloride ions.

It is used in a wide range of industrial environments, as it is resistant to a variety of corrosive substances and can withstand temperatures of up to 2000degF. Its high chromium content also allows it to withstand recurrent heating and cooling cycles. Moreover, the combination of chromium and molybdenum offers increased resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking, making it an ideal choice for offshore platforms and power plants that use seawater as a coolant.
