About the material

Tungsten carbide (WC) is a brittle and meta-stable compound that exhibits high hardness and excellent toughness. It is a very useful material for cutting and wear applications because it has good impact strength, resistance to galling/abrasion/erosions, and long lasting properties in extreme temperatures and environments.

Corrosion Resistance of WC Coatings

Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) tungsten carbide coatings provide exceptional corrosion resistance when applied in a thin film at room temperature. They are also abrasion resistant and have metallurgical bond strengths in excess of 22,000 psi, making them an ideal choice for heavy duty applications.
