stainless steel strips Are Custom-Made For Applications Where Quality, Precision and Consistency Are Critical

Designed to deliver specific mechanical, electrical and magnetic properties in a variety of surface finishes, stainless steel strips are engineered to perform wherever quality, precision and consistency are required. They are used to provide corrosion resistance, ductility and strength in a wide range of industries including aerospace, automotive, construction, electronics, food processing, health and medicine, petrochemical and fuel and telecommunications.

The basic composition of stainless steel is iron (Fe) and chromium (Cr), with the addition of other alloying elements such as nickel, nitrogen and molybdenum. Various grades of stainless steel are available, which are primarily differentiated by their hardness, tensile and yield strengths.

Type 430 is the simplest of the ferritic stainless steels and is commonly used for automotive trim and inside dishwashers and clothes dryers. Other types include type 316 (S31000), which is a common grade for household appliances and tableware and utensils, and type 347 (S34800) which provides increased corrosion resistance in the presence of sulfur containing atmospheres.

Grade 316L is an austenitic, chromium-nickel stainless steel which has a lower carbon content than grade 316, imparting even better corrosion resistance. The addition of titanium stabilizes this grade at high temperatures to enhance its resistance to pitting corrosion in marine and chemical industrial environments.

The product is further characterized by its bright annealed finish that is retained during the final cold rolling process. The resulting stainless steel strip is suitable for general-purpose uses and may be polished to achieve a desired finish.
